The build-to-rent (BTR) market shows no sign of slowing. According to a recent study, since 2016, cumulative BTR completions are said to have quadrupled. And with young professionals, in particular, increasingly seeking flexible accommodation to fit in with their multi-hyphenated lifestyles, this type of residential build has fast become the norm – especially in cities, where regeneration is rife.
The difference between the residential and build-to-rent market is, of course, the need for a larger range of bespoke yet durable accessories, fittings and fixtures. Many of the new BTR complexes feature a gym, coffee shop, and shared social and kitchen areas. Things you wouldn’t normally specify for in a residential space. And it’s this, paired with a high turnover of use, that demands more from the chosen interior products.
