Unveiling a special CDW2020 collaboration

Drum roll, please….We’re excited to announce a very special collaboration with none other than British design studio, Tom Pigeon. The full results of the partnership will be unveiled at Clerkenwell Design Week but, in the meantime, here’s some background on the project to whet your whistle…

With a shared passion for designing beautiful, simple pieces for people to enjoy, we invited Tom Pigeon’s Kirsty Thomas to collaborate in creating a new limited edition furniture range for hospitality and commercial interiors. The design mastermind behind the studio, Kirsty has been challenged to produce a fabric pattern design that “she would like to own herself”.

Merging British and ‘Scandi’ style

The result of the collaboration is a new limited edition chair and stool range, which offers the perfect marriage of playfulness and comfort, and combines British design with the contemporary ‘Scandi’ look and feel we are known for.

During Clerkenwell Design Week, we’ll be unveiling the limited-edition pieces from our stand in Design Fields – DF12. The furniture will feature as part of an immersive space dedicated to contemporary hospitality design.

“We developed our designs by exploring the geometry of the upholstery cutting patterns of the Sintra chair and taking colour inspiration from the magnificent Sintra Castle. We wanted our designs to be bold and playful but also suitable for a wide range of interior spaces. I really enjoyed working with Roger Lewis on this project and am looking forward to revealing the results of our work at Clerkenwell Design Week.”

Visualising creativity

To aid in her creative process, Kirsty was invited to try out our Customiser App. This helps designers visualise our Sintra chair with custom fabric choices, before having it hand-upholstered at our factory.

Throughout the festival, our team will be on-hand to offer demos of the Customiser to help spark some ideas for your next interiors project.

Celebrating craftsmanship

In addition to the Tom Pigeon range, we’ll also showcase our bespoke design offering and skilled craftsmanship at the event.

A hero selection of the latest products will feature, including the Sintra and Kyoto collections, providing you with the opportunity to view the fine detailing up close.

Our team will also be in situ to provide creative context to our British-made products, which draw inspiration from around the globe.
