The Inaugural Roger Lewis Classic sportive takes on some of the most ridden roads that UK Cycling Events have rolled over, taking in some breath-taking scenery. With the two routes on offer, you can challenge yourself with some tough climbs on the longer routes or opt for the slightly shorter and flatter routes.
The Long and Short routes all make their way through the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, creating a wonderful often challenging experience for all riders, culminating in riding three of the most renowned hills in the Mendips Cheddar Gorge, Burrington Coombe both on the short route and New Road aka ‘Glider Hill’.
Whichever route you choose it will be a fantastic day out on the bike, and an experience to remember.
The Classic is designed with all riders in mind. With two routes to choose from and nothing too technical, the longer route will average 16mph and summit all three climbs covering approximately 65 miles the short route misses out ‘Glider Hill’ and is approximately 55 miles.

Cycle Event Itinerary
9.30am arrival at The Cotton Works Coffee and pastries from Rye Bakery Bike tooling and self-service station to prepare your bike & equipment
10.30am Grand Depart A beautiful route across the Somerset countryside to Cheddar Gorge. All nutrition will be provided (SIS, Gels, Electrolytes, Bars etc..) and a coffee stop on route if desired.
1pm Somerset Cider Stop Wilkins Farm for cider & cheese!
2pm Wheels Up Two routes back will include a more direct ride back to the factory at a similar pace or a longer route at a higher pace culminating in riding three of the most renowned hills in the Mendips, led by a 2022 Lanzarote Ironman Finisher.
4pm BBQ, Drinks & Showers at The Cotton Works Both routes will be back at HQ at around 4pm to celebrate a stunning but tough day out on the road with a BBQ and Refreshments.
