Clerkenwell Design Week: Round Up

We were delighted to be showing in the British Collection at Clerkenwell Design Week for the first time alongside many well-established brands such as Benchmark, Dare Studio, and deVol as well as some fantastic upcoming brands like Jott Studio and John Eadon. At the show we launched never seen before ranges suitable for the workplace, build-to-rent, and hospitality market. Alongside our sales team this year we had two of our talented apprentices Jake and Angelica on the stand and they loved speaking with our current clients whom they’ve met previously on factory tours, but also answering questions and giving insights into potential clients who were learning about Roger Lewis for the first time!

Conversations at Clerkenwell

Despite the drizzle on Wednesday lunchtime it was great to see a sold out, jam packed venue for the ‘Closing the loop’ talk chaired by Elspeth Prodham. Our Managing Director, Marc Richard was part of the panel of experts and the discussion was insightful and informative touching on topics such as the meaning of circular economy and the importance of an ethical policy for brands and customers. Together with his partner Dean Connell, Marc and Dean discussed their newest venture Capxule which is a new closed loop concept furniture brand designed to transcend time.

Highlight: The comfiest chair at Clerkenwell

It was great welcoming people onto the stand who were seeking out ‘the comfiest chair at Clerkenwell’. The Alpbach compact chair is the perfect addition to any hotel, lounge or bedroom. The comfortable rake of the chair tempts you in and once you’re in you won’t want to get out. Retro in design but updated with a modern twist including chunky oak legs. Upholstered in Yarn Collective’s Marci Mohair fabric. To find out more about the new products shown on our stand.

Take a seat

Our Kharkiv sofa was impossible to walk past without trying it out! This soft low modular range is designed for the workplace and hospitality communal areas. Named after the city where our 3D product renderer lived in Ukraine before the rockets started raining down. Normally our product ranges are named after places of tranquillity from across the world, so this name is clearly ironic. All net profits from the sale of this range will go to Ukrainian charities to help in the rebuilding of Ukraine. Upholstered in Kirkby Sculpt cotton velvet corduroy.

Factory Tours

We were delighted to see so many friendly and new faces visit our stand last week. We had a lot of interest about arranging visits to our factory in Frome, Somerset. If this is something you would be interested in organising then please do get in touch.
