BATTERSEA POWER STATION

ROGER LEWIS HEADS INTO BUILD TO RENT SECTOR WITH BESPOKE BEDS FOR BATTERSEA POWER STATION

Sir Giles Gilbert Scott’s iconic 1930s masterpiece, Battersea Power Station, has undergone a transformation for the 21st Century. The unmistakable structure, with its four distinct chimneys, was originally built to meet the energy demands of the ‘new age’.

Battersea Bed

Now, the much-loved feature of London’s skyline has been developed into 253 new homes, boasting original brick and steelwork dating back to the 1930s, and floor to ceiling Crittall windows.

To match the heritage style, interior design studio TH2 Designs selected Art Deco inspired fittings to enhance the existing space. This included bespoke, fully upholstered king size beds by Roger Lewis. The frames were carefully designed to work harmoniously with the overall scheme, taking creative cues from the building’s architecture.

Integrated headboards, incorporating a faux leather strap and separate cushions upholstered in a trend-led blue velvet, offer a luxurious backrest that is both functional and an interior feature in its own right.

Part of a long-standing working relationship with TH2 Designs, Roger Lewis offers a flexible design process for close collaboration. This has ensured the production of a product that hits the right level of luxury for the Grade II* listed building.
